1.
The
referee and or designated MMS officials shall have
the power to disqualify any rider or mechanic who
does not conform to the rules and may inspect any
part of a motorcycle and or riding equipment in
competition at any MMS event.
2.
The
referee as authorized may be empowered to permit
minor deviation from any of the specifications
herein or impose any further restrictions that in
his or her opinion do not alter the minimum
acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied
warranty or safety shall result from such alteration
of specifications. Any interpretation or deviation
of these rules is left to the discretion of the
officials. Their decision is final.
3.
Engine
sizes are as per AMA specifications.
4.
The
referee and or MMS designated official are empowered
to have motors measured in any event under MMS
sanction. Any rider refusing to allow his or her
motor to be measured or to prepare his or her motor
for measurement automatically disqualifies
him/herself and all his promotional and championship
points shall be suspended.
5.
All kick
stands, center stands, side stands, direction
lights, broken fenders, license plates and any such
protruding, unsafe objects must be removed.
6.
Standard
items may be replaced by after-market accessories,
so long as the accessory items are mounted and used
in a safe and approved manner. This is to include
such items as wheels, fenders, handlebars, seats,
gas tanks, brakes, etc.
7.
All dirt
bikes must be equipped with adequate and operating
front and rear wheel brakes at the beginning of all
motos.
8.
Leakage
from gas tanks, fuel systems, or fittings, as well
as temporary makeshift repairs is prohibited.
Alterations to mounting brackets are permitted.
9.
All dirt
bikes are required to have foot pegs that fold at a
45-degree angle.
10.
All dirt
bikes must meet minimum AMA sound standards.
Mufflers and or silencers must be mounted in a safe
working manner.
11.
At the
start of each practice, qualifier, and moto all dirt
bikes must be equipped with approved mufflers and or
silencers in proper operating condition subject to
the approval of the referee and or designated MMS
official.
12.
Handle
bars may not be broken, cracked or repaired.
Handlebar mounts may be properly altered. Control
levers must have ball ends (Min. ½ in.). Handlebar
ends must be covered.
13.
All dirt
bikes must have a kill-button in operating
condition, mounted on the left-hand handlebar.
