  RULES - SAFETY

  1. A rider should be of sufficient size to be able to maintain safe and proper stability and control of the machine at all times.  This includes: stopping, starting, at a stand still, mounting or dismounting a machine or other such times as it may be necessary to put one or both feet on the ground.  Immediate interpretation of this rule will be made by the Referee of the event.
  2. Participants are solely responsible for their safety at MMS races and should assess their own ability to negotiate each individual track.
  3. Participants who doubt the competence of track officials, or have concerns about the safety of the track or their own ability to negotiate the track, or who are uncertain about the competence of fellow competitors, should not participate and should request the return of their entry fee before practice begins.
  4. Riders, mechanics, pit crews or any person or race official may not during their day’s events drink alcoholic beverages, use drugs, or stimulants of any type.  All track promoters of the MMS and race officials have same authority.  Penalty: disqualification of the rider from that day’s events.
  5. No smoking is allowed in the staging areas, pit entrance and exits, on the starting line and in the mechanics area.
  6. Riders and mechanics must enter and exit the track areas and pits in the designated entrance and exit.  Failure to do so may result in disqualification for all involved for the day.
  7. Riders, mechanics, pit crews, families and or spectators are not allowed inside the track area unless otherwise designated as a “mechanic’s area”.  Violators will be disqualified for the day.
  8. Riding in the pits is allowed at some tracks and not others.  It is the riders’  responsibility to know which tracks allow pit riding and which ones don’t.  At the tracks that don’t allow it, all dirt bikes must be walked in all areas.   Where pit riding is allowed, the rider must go no faster than walking speed in 1st gear.   The penalty for violation of these rules will be disqualification for that moto for the first offense, disqualification for the day for the second offense, suspension for 15 days for the third offense and indefinite suspension for all subsequent offenses.  This will include forfeiture of all prizes, contingencies, and points won at the event (except promotional points).
  9. Any rider leaving the track during racing must reenter the track only in a safe manner, without gaining a position.
  10. Cutting the track is prohibited and will result in loss of one lap.
