  RULES - STARTING PROCEDURES  
     
 

1.        The track referee shall decide on the number of dirt bikes to start in each race.

2.        Riders must be ready when their class is called, the gate will not be held.

3.        In all starts the referee shall have the power to decide what a fair start is and shall instruct the starter to signal for a restart as necessary.  

4.        In the event of starting gate malfunctions, the referee shall assign a flagman to flag-start the event as he or she deems necessary.

5.        Riding in the starting-line area is prohibited.  Penalty is disqualification, from the day’s events.

6.        Stepping in front of or grooming in front of the starting gate pivot point is strictly prohibited and will result in the rider being disqualified from that race.

7.        Riders may not start more than two feet behind the starting gate.  Penalty is loss of one lap.

8.        When a penalty-line (start line) is used, start may be no more than two feet behind the penalty line (start line) but not in front of the penalty line (start line).  Penalty is the loss of one lap.

9.        Before the start of the race, a 30 second signal will be given.  The 30 second signal will be followed by a 10 second signal to indicate that the gate will be dropped anytime within the next 10 seconds.

10.     On the line, a rider may raise his or her hand for up to a 2 minute time period to correct a mechanical or other issue.  Not applicable for the second gate drop of a two gate drop race. 

11.     The referee may stop the countdown to make changes and or adjustments.

12.     Mechanics / parents must leave the starting gate when the 30-second signal is displayed.

13.     If a safety violation is issued a rider will not be allowed to race unless the safety violation is corrected.  A safety violation is defined as anything that will endanger the rider themselves and or other riders.

14.     Official reserve the right to prevent anyone from competing in any event if the rider, dirt bike, or equipment does not comply with the general rules.

15.     Starting position for the first moto will be determined by current Championship standings except at the first race of the season, and then it shall be a random gate pick.

16.     Starting positions for the second moto will be determined by the finish order of the riders in the first moto.
